Three Vietnamese players to compete for Karate1-Premier League

(CPV) - Three Vietnamese female players, Nguyen Thi Ngoan and Bui Thi Ngoc Han (kumite), and Nguyen Thi Phuong (kata) have traveled to Germany’s Halle/Leipzig for the Karate1-Premier League from September 8th-10th.

Initiated in 2011 with two tournaments held in Paris and Istanbul, known as the most important league event in the world of Karate, the event comprises of a number of the most prominent Karate competitions and endeavours to bring together the best Karate athletes in the world in an open championships of unprecedented scale and quality.

This year’s race lured around 1,300 competitors from 87 nations/territories.

Nguyen Thi Ngoan, 19, currently the best Vietnamese artist in the 61kg’s event, is set to bag a medal in ASIAD 2018 as well as a berth for 2020 Summer Olympics in Japan.

By participating in this tour, Vietnamese athletes have chance to earn points, eyeing a place in the world rankings which generates records for 2020 Summer Olympics competition.

Other members of the national karate squad on September 5th returned to Hanoi to practice their skills in preparation for future tours, as key events like national championships, strong teams, and 29th SEA Games were wrapped up.

In the recently ended SEA Games 2017 in Malaysia, Vietnamese players demonstrated an impressive performance by bagging five gold medals in karate./.
