U23 Vietnam roster finalized for M-150 Cup in Thailand

(CPV) - Head coach of the U23 national football team Park Hang Seo on December 6th finalized 27 names for the M-150 Cup 2017 which will be held in Thailand from December 9th-17th.


Notably, the two half-backs of Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC, Nguyen Tuan Anh and Tran Minh Vuong, were absent due to their injuries.

It is the same reason for the absence of goalie Phi Minh Long (Hanoi FC), full back Tran Huu Dong Trieu (Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC), defender Do Thanh Thinh (SHB Da Nang FC), and defender Tran Van Kien (Hanoi FC).


While not calling half-back Nguyen Huu Dung (FLC Thanh Hoa FC), midfield players Trinh Van Loi (Hai Phong FC) and Huynh Tan Sinh (Quang Nam FC), however, the Republic of Korea’s head coach welcomed the two new faces of Nguyen Trong Dai (Viettel FC) and Pham Xuan Manh (Song Lam Nghe An FC who had good performances at the final round of U21 national football championships.

M-150 Cup 2017 sees six teams from hosts Thailand, Myanmar, Uzbekistan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Japan and Vietnam. The winner will pocket USD20,000.

The U23 national squad will depart on December 7th.

Thailand is in Group B against Vietnam and Myanmar, while Group A consists of Japan, the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea and Uzbekistan. They will compete in a round robin format.

Thailand will take on Vietnam on December 9th at the I-Mobile stadium in Buriram in their opening game./.
