Vietnam places 3rd at International Women’s Volleyball Tournament

(CPV) - Winning 3-0 over Suwon rivals from the Republic of Korea (25-13, 25-23, 25-23), the Vietnamese team finally placed 3rd at the International Women’s Volleyball Tournament VTV Cup Ton Hoa Sen 2017.

Hosted by Hai Duong provincial Sports and Physical Training Stadium, Vietnamese players demonstrated a good performance with the names Doan Thi Xuan, Kim Hue and Ngoc Hoa, thanks to strong support from fans.

In the final match on July 15th, the Japanese student team under the instruction by Fujii Masahiro coach earned a persuasive win over its Indonesian rivals with 25-14, 25-19 and 25-14 sets. The champions pocketed a USD10,000 prize in cash.

This year’s tour lured seven teams from Vietnam, junior Vietnam, junior Thailand, Japanese student, Suwon (the Republic of Korea), and Beijing University (China), two groups, playing in a round-robin format, seeking the best two teams for the semi-finals.

The most favored title, Miss Volleyball, went to Lee Yun Jung from Suwon team./.
