This year, Vietnam will play in Group A with Thailand, Singapore, Laos, the Philippines, and host Indonesia.
Group B includes Malaysia, Myanmar, Timor Leste, Cambodia and Brunei.
In the qualifying rounds of the 15th edition of the Championship, the 23 players-team will play with Thailand on July 1st, the Philippines on July 3rd, Laos on July 5th, Indonesia on July 7th and Singapore on July 9th.
Notably, Vietnam’s head coach warmly welcomed the return of defender Bui Hoang Viet Anh, midfielder Tran Van Cong, and striker Le Xuan Tu, all from Hanoi club.
Earlier, Vietnamese footballers took part in the Suwon JS Cup 2018 in the Republic of Korea on April 18th-22nd, then enjoyed a training course in China from June 15th-25th, thus helping them to gain significant improvements in both physical strength and professional skills.
