Defender Nguyen Huu Anh Tai of Hoang Anh Gia Lai will play for Uijeongbu FC of the Republic of Korea on a one-year loan deal after an agreement between the two sides.

The former national U19 player is expected to leave for his new club by the end of this month.

Uijeongbu play in the K3 Basic League, the fourth tier of the Republic of Korea’s football. In 2016 the club finished bottom of the K3 League and were relegated.

President and head coach Kim Hee-tae of Uijeongbu sent a letter to Hoang Anh Gia Lai FC and invited the 21-year-old Tai to play with his team, saying that Tai would have the chance to develop rapidly in Korean football.

Kim was the Republic of Korea’s national coach in 1987.

Tài played only two matches last season. He is a graduate of the Hoang Anh Gia Lai-Arsenal JMG Academy’s second generation. He was a member of the national U19 team who came second at the ASEAN championship in 2014.
