Overall scheme for Tam Chuc national tourism site approved

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc has adopted the overall scheme for the development of Tam Chuc national tourism site in the northern province of Ha Nam by 2030.

The Tam Chuc national tourism site is located in Ba Sao town and three hamlets: Vong, Khuyen Cong and Kha Phong, in Kha Phong commune, Kim Bang district. The area of the prioritized core zone is 4,000 ha.

It targets basically meeting the criteria of a national tourism site by 2025 and strives to have comprehensive technical infrastructure, high quality tourism products, and tourism brand; make significant contributions to local socio-economic development; and become an attractive tourism center of the Red River Delta, North East coast and the whole country by 2030.  

Tam Chuc will greet about 3.7 million tourist arrivals, including 470,000 foreigners by 2025, and strives to welcome about 6 million tourist arrivals, including 750,000 foreigners by 2030. These will create jobs for about 2,400 workers, including 900 direct ones by 2025, and 4,500 workers, including 1,800 direct ones, by 2030.

Total tourism turnover (at current prices) will reach about VND1.1 trillion by 2025 and strives to hit more than VND1.7 trillion by 2030.

According to the scheme, domestic tourist markets will focus on Hanoi and neighboring localities such as Hung Yen, Hoa Binh, Nam Dinh, Ninh Binh, Thai Binh, Hai Phong, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh, while markets which will be expanded are Ho Chi Minh city and southern localities.

The scheme also attaches special importance to luring foreign tourists from Northeast Asia (Japan, the Republic of Korea, Chinese Taipei and China); ASEAN countries; Western Europe (France, Spain, England and Germany); North America (the US and Canada); Australia and India./.
