25 troupes join 2018 Lion Dance Festival

The 2018 Lion Dance Festival will be attended by 25 teams with performances of 108 lions from Ho Chi Minh city and neighboring localities such as Dong Nai, Long An and Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The event will be held from December 28
th to 30
th in Van Lang Park, precinct 9, District 5.
The festival is part of an array of activities to promote tourism of the southern city in the end of the year in order to introduce and honor the special art of lion dance of the community of people in District 5 in particular and the hub in general.
The performances at the event are expected to set new Guinness Vietnam record.
On the sidelines, there were also activities such exchanges with artists; displaying unicorn products; exchanges with famous doctors; and introducing useful traditional remedies in daily life.
Lion dance has traditionally been an important cultural activity of people in Ho Chi Minh city. Lion dance teams often have to practice all year and perform only in some important events like the Lunar New Year or special festivals of the community./.
