The number of tourists to Hanoi reached an estimated 2.52 million in August 2019, a year-on-year rise of 10.7%, according to the Hanoi Department of Tourism.

Of this, foreigners numbered 541,311 (up 17.5%) with 380,000 staying overnight (up 14.5%). Total revenue from tourists this month was estimated at VND8.71 trillion, a year-on-year increase of 35.2%.
Totaling the Jan-August period, Hanoi is expected to greet more than 19 million tourists, a year-on-year rise of 9.5%, including over 4.2 million foreigners, a 10.5% increase. Total revenue from tourists is estimated at over VND67.22 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 31.1%.
This year, the capital set a target of welcoming 28.58 million tourists, in which foreign tourists will be 6.68 million; grossing revenue of over VND87.7 trillion. Average room occupancy of accommodation establishments and hotels will reach 60-65%./.
