Mr. Nguyen Son Thuy, Director of Indochina Unique Tourist Company, said the additional flight is expected to lead a boom in number of tourists from Thailand to Da Nang and the Central region.

“Currently, the sudden increase in number of tourists from Bangkok to Da Nang with 8 flights a day from many air carriers with 1,500 passengers, is thanks to advantages in tourist destinations in the region,” Thuy added.

After visiting Da Nang - a gateway to the region by air, tourists can visit heritages in Hoi An and Hue. In addition, the Thai film “Hoi An, I love you” airing on national television also helps to increase Thai tourists to the ancient town.

According to statistics, Thai tourists to Da Nang just numbered about 20,000 in 2017, ranking 8th among international tourist markets to the city, but the figure increased three folds in 2018 to nearly 60,000; helping the market be listed among Top 5.

The central hub is expected to greet more than 100,000 Thai tourists in 2019./.
