In March alone, Vietnam welcomed nearly 1 million foreigners, down 16.1% from the previous month but up 21.2% year-on-year.

This significant result showed the efforts of the tourism industry, creating the premise for the year’s target of receiving 11.5 million international arrivals and serving 66 million domestic visitors, grossing a revenue of VND460 trillion.

From the start of the year, Vietnam tourism actively joined overseas promotion and cooperation, especially participating in the 2017 ASEAN - China Tourism Cooperation Year in the Philippines from March 15th to 17th.

Also in March, Vietnam participated in the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition, one the five biggest tourism fairs in the world. At the fair, Vietnam’s destinations, attractive tourism types, activities of the 2017 National Tourism Year and special cultural activities were introduced with the hope of attracting more foreigners to the country./.
