The rise in foreign tourist arrivals is due to the effective organization of regular activities, and the successful hosting of the APEC 2017 Summit Week in the central coastal city of Da Nang.

November marked the 8th month in this year in which Vietnam greeted more than 1 million travellers.

Compared to the same month last year, the foreign tourists soared 25.2%, in which those from Asia rose 30.6%, Europe 9.6%, America 15.7%, Australia 18.2% and Africa 14%.

Totalling the 11 months, Vietnam received nearly 11.65 million foreign arrivals, a year-on-year rise of 27.8%. Of this, foreigners coming by air reached 9.88 million, up 31%, while those arriving by road and sea were 1.53 million (up 16.2%) and 230,500 (down 7.7%), respectively.

Markets sending the most tourists to Vietnam were China (3.6 million), the Republic of Korea (2.16 million), Russia (517,200), Taiwan-China (562,300), and the US (560,300).

Aiming to fulfill the target of welcoming 13 million foreigners in 2017, Vietnam needs to attract more than 1.3 million arrivals in December./.
