Ha Long bay entrance fee increase proposed

A proposed 20 - 85% increase in entrance fees to Ha Long bay is scheduled to be implemented on January 1st, 2019.


Mr. Pham Dinh Huynh, Deputy Head of the Ha Long bay Managing Board, said on July 24th that the Ha Long People’s Committee has suggested the increase to the Department of Finance and the Quang Ninh provincial People’s Committee.

Accordingly, entrance fees of the first route (Thien Cung, Dau Go, Cho Da islet, Ba Hang cave, Dinh Huong islet, and Trong Mai islet), the second route (Soi Sim beach, Titov beach, Sung Sot cave, Me Cung cavern, Bo Nau cave, Luon cave, Trong cave, Trinh Nu cave and Dong Tien lake) and the fifth route (Cho Da islet, Ba Hang cave, Dinh Huong islet, Trong Mai islet, Gia Luan wharf) rose from VND250,000 to VND300,000.  

The fourth route (Co, Thay, Cong Do and Cap La caves, Vong Vien, Tung Anh - Cong Do ecological area, Hon Xep park) will have entrance fees raised from VND200,000 to VND250,000.

For the third route (Cua Van floating cultural center, Tien Ong cave, Ba Ham lake, Ba Men temple, Ang Du), the entrance fees will remain at VND200,000.

Also according to the proposal, the routes providing overnight services on Ha Long bay will have average increased fees from 73% to 85%.

Mr. Huynh explained the increases aim to have sufficient budget for regular spending, preservation of heritages and improvement of quality of services for tourists.

These are just the proposal and the increases will be approved or not, depending on the upcoming session of the provincial People’s Council, he added./.
