The number is equivalent to 25% of the total of more than 170,000 maritime tourists to Vietnam.

Together with Van Don International Airport, Van Don - Mong Cai highway, the cruise port is becoming an attractive destination for foreign tourists. The special international passenger port can handle large ships with a capacity of 225,000 GRT and accommodation of more than 8,000 people, and is expected to contribute to bringing Quang Ninh to a new growth period for foreign tourists.

With an average of 500 cruises with nearly 300,000 maritime tourists to Vietnam a year, each port in the S-shaped country greets about two cruises with 1,100 tourists. This showed the attraction and high efficiency of the Ha Long International Cruise Port.

From the end of April 2019, the official operation of inland waterway wharf opened a new gateway for tourists to visit Ha Long bay conveniently and safely. After 4 months of operation, the wharf brought nearly 192,000 tourists to the heritage area.

According to estimates of tourism managers, each five-star cruise ship brings 1,000-1,500 tourists to Ha Long bay with spending of about USD20 each on shopping.

The number of maritime travelers is expected to bring great advantages for auxiliary services on the spot or near the port. It is situated at the heart of Bai Chay Tourist Site, a beautiful and modern public beach, creating favorable conditions for both domestic and foreign cruisers seeking an enjoyable vacation on the bay, as well as explorations of the beautiful city of Ha Long and Vietnam in general.

With 40% higher revenue than other types of tourism, the cruise ship sector is a “delicious cake” for Quang Ninh to take advantage of. It is forecast that in 2019, the port will be fully scheduled to welcome international five-star cruise ships with a large number of tourists of multiple nationalities, high incomes, and great shopping needs./.
