The 8th Tourism Promotion Organization for Asia Pacific cities (TPO) Forum will be held from June 21st-22nd in Ho Chi Minh city, recently said the city Department of Tourism.

The biennial event, with the theme of “Smart Tourism”, is being organized for the first time in Vietnam, according to Nguyen Thi Anh Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Tourism.
It will contribute to strengthening the professional capacity of TPO members and helping delegates develop new ideas, strategies and thinking for the tourism industry in the era of industrial revolution 4.0.
“The forum is a place for members with tendency of applying technology and the power of communications to develop tourism in not only promotion activities but also management and update of new trend, policies, models and policies,” she added.
On the sidelines, various programs will be held, including a TPO travel-trade and smart-tourism product exhibition, smart travel seminar, bilateral meeting between TPO member cities, TPO award to honor outstanding contributions of individuals, teams who are members of TPO, and a survey program in Ho Chi Minh city.
The TPO now has 86 member cities and 45 industry members from 10 countries and territories, including: the Republic of Korea, Indonesia, Malaysia, Russia, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, China, Vietnam and Taiwan (China). It was established in 2002 to promote the exchange and development of the tourism industry in major cities in the Asia Pacific region./.
