Under the MoU, NIMA and TTAA will support promotion of MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions) products of Da Nang to the business community in India.

Mr. K. Vijay Mohan, President of TTAA, said that the organization is ready to assist Da Nang to organize large-scale roadshows in India, particularly in New Delhi, with the participation of hundreds of companies.

According to Mr. Mohan, the survey of travel companies and MICE companies on the Vietnamese market showed that Da Nang was suitable for large MICE delegations from India. He will also learn more about the facilities in the central hub, namely Ariyana Convention Center, which hosts many international MICE events.

Meanwhile, Cao Tri Dung, Chairman of Da Nang Tourism Association, suggested that the two sides cooperate concretely to bring tourists from India, especially from Mumbai, to Da Nang after traveling Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh city and vice versa; and encourage tourists from the city to tour India.

Mr. Nguyen Xuan Binh, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism, revealed that the city is preparing to build a number of conference centers with 700-2,000 seats, located next to the existing facilities. Therefore, Da Nang has the conditions to receive MICE delegations from India.

Aiming to realize this, Mr. Mohan and Mr. Binh agreed to soon open direct flights from Mumbai/New Delhi to Da Nang together with two direct flights from Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi to New Delhi.

Mr. Binh added that next year, the Da Nang Tourism Promotion Center will coordinate with the city Department of Tourism to speed up promotion in the Indian market./.
