Number of foreigners to southern city rises 32%

From the start of 2018, number of foreign tourists to Ho Chi Minh city reached about 3.18 million, a 32% rise over a year earlier and fulfilling 42.4% of the year plan, according to the city People’s Committee.

Total tourism turnover, including travel, hotel and restaurant, posted an estimated VND51.65 trillion, a 14.8% increase from the same period last year and fulfilling 37.4% of the year plan.
Aiming to fulfill and exceed the year’s plan, the city Department of Tourism continues to improve the quality of tourism products and services in the city with the focus on developing waterway tourism, “Ho Chi Minh city - 100 interesting things” program, and standard tourism services program.
According to the global online hotel booking website Agoda, in 2018, Ho Chi Minh city is still chosen as a favorite destination and has seen the most bookings on the website as a departure to discover Vietnam./.
