As of May 30th, after four months of the pilot implementation, among nearly 206,000 accesses to the e-visas website, more than 22,000 foreigners applied for e-visas, including citizens of the US, England, France, Poland, Czech, Germany, Ireland, Slovakia, Japan, Sweden and China.

Of this, nearly 21,000 people were granted e-visas, in which 12,000 entered the country.

The inspection and control of foreigners entering with e-visas at airports and land border gates ensured security and safety as regulated, creating favourable conditions for passengers.

Mr. Nam said that the achievements affirmed the policy of the Government and the Resolution of the National Assembly on the granting of e-visas being right and suitable with the real demand.

In the near future, he asked related units to overcome the existing shortcomings, especially problems that cause difficulties for citizens in the declaration of e-visas.

The Immigration Department should actively coordinate with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs; Culture, Sports and Tourism; and Transport to work out specific plans to promote the granting of e-visas./.
