Quang Binh allow more explorers to Son Doong cave

The Oxalis Adventure Tours One-member Liability Limited Company will develop tours to the front and back gateways of Son Doong cave in 2017 with a maximum permitted expedition size of 200 members.

According to the conclusion document of Head the Quang Binh People’s Committee Nguyen Huu Hoai, leaders of the province have agreed in principle to allow Oxalis to realize the plan. The company will build concrete plans to submit to the locality for approval.
Oxalis is now the only company permitted to operate tours to Son Doong cave. Together with the additional explorers, this year, the company can organize tours for about 500-600 guests at cost of USD3,000 each.
Quang Binh has approved in principle the opening of an international air route from Dong Hoi to Chiang Mai (Thailand). The provincial Department of Tourism will work with travel companies in Quang Tri, Thua Thien-Hue, Da Nang and Nghe An to find partners with full capacity of receiving and organizing tours from Thailand to Quang Binh.
The locality will also invite major travel companies of Chiang Mai to Quang Binh to survey the organizing of tours. As scheduled, the air route will be launched in June 2017./.
