The number of tourists to the northern province of Quang Ninh was estimated to reach 9.87 million in 2017, a year-on-year rise of 18%, according to the provincial Department of Tourism.

Of this, foreign arrivals reached 4.28 million, up 23% over a year earlier. Total tourism turnover amounted to more than VND17.88 trillion, up 30% over a year earlier, while tax collection from tourism services posted over VND2.1 trillion, making up 7.62% of domestic collection, up 30% over a year earlier.
In 2017, many high-quality tourism products were put into use, bringing gigantic growth in meeting the increasing demand of tourists, as well as attracting a large number of domestic and foreign tourists.
Aiming to intensify tourism development, Quang Ninh enhanced state management on tourism, improved business environment, invested in infrastructure, and expanded tourist space to localities in the province.
At the same time, Quang Ninh professionalized market expansion, promotion and communication in tourism in order to help tourists and businesses gain the fastest access to tourism products and services./.
