Railways to add 53 trains for national holiday

The Vietnam Railway Corporation (VNR) will organize more than 50 additional trains on routes with heavy passenger density such as: Sai Gon – Nha Trang, Sai Gon – Phan Thiet, Hanoi – Vinh, and Hanoi – Dong Hoi to meet the increasing travel demand during national holiday from August 29th to September 2nd.

In the South, 35 trains will be added with 17,000 seats for routes from Sai Gon to Phan Thiet, Nha Trang, Quy Nhon, Quang Ngai and Da Nang.

An additional 18 trains will be arranged for routes from the North, including 4 for Hanoi – Da Nang, 6 for Hanoi – Dong Hoi, 6 for Hanoi – Vinh and 2 for Hanoi – Lao Cai.

For Hanoi – Lao Cai, Hanoi – Hai Phong, Hanoi – Dong Dang, Hanoi – Quan Trieu and Yen Vien – Ha Long routes, the corporation will maintain 10 pairs of trains a day. The trains will connect more carriages as demand of passengers increase.

During the national holiday, VNR still maintains the ticket discount program for social policy beneficiaries, students, and trade union members, and often monitors and updates the travel demand of passengers on all routes./.
