The 2018 Southern Fruit Festival will be organized at Suoi Tien Culture Tourism Area, Ho Chi Minh city, from June 1st to 17th.

The annual event is co-organized by the Ho Chi Minh city Departments of Tourism, Agriculture and Rural Development, Industry and Trade, and Suoi Tien Culture and Tourism JSC to introduce the specific traits and abundance of fruit species of southern waterways and honor achievements in the agricultural field.
Mr. Truong Minh Hau, Deputy Director of the city Tourism Promotion Center, said this year’s festival will introduce various activities and programs for domestic and foreign tourists; including a floating market for fruit, delicious fruit contest, carving art with fruit and vegetables, fruit parade, an ornamental tree and animal exhibition, a display on agriculture and farm machinery, and a week of Vietnamese fruits and art performances.
The floating market will run for three months over the Summer, offering opportunities for visitors to purchase fruits at 20-30% discounted prices.
In addition, the event will, for the first time, include a fruit garden with unusual and unique species of fruits such as 150-kg Da Lat pumpkin, 100-kg Binh Dinh pumpkin, and giant chilli.
From June 1st to 7th, visitors staying at 4 or 5 star hotels in Ho Chi Minh city will enjoy a variety of fruit or juice free of charge.
According to the organizers, the festival is expected to attract about 1.6 million visitors./.
