The number of tourists to the central province of Thua Thien - Hue reached an estimated 1.25 million in the first three months of 2019, a 13.8% rise year on year; in which foreign tourists numbered more than 640,000, a 20.26% increase, reported the provincial Department of Tourism.

Of the total, the number of tourists staying overnight reached more than 560,000, up 8.26%. Tourism turnover was estimated at over VND1.1 trillion, up 5%.
In March, it greeted over 455,000 tourist arrivals, up 17.45% from the previous month, including over 250,000 foreigners.
In April and May, tourists to the city are expected to increase sharply as many special cultural events will be organized, especially Hue traditional craft villages festival, scheduled from April 26th to May 2nd.
This year, the province strives to welcome 4.5-4.7 million tourist arrivals, a year-on-year increase of 8%; in which foreign tourists will occupy about 40-45%, and tourist staying overnight will total 2.2-2.3 million, up 7%. Total tourism turnover is forecast to hit VND4.7-4.9 trillion, up about 10%./.
