Of this, foreign tourists will be 81,530, up 16.2% over a year earlier, while domestic arrivals will be 61,470, up 12%.

According to the Department of Tourism, the increase in tourist arrivals is due to Christmas and New Year’s Eve being the peak season for foreigners from the US, Australia, China, Japan and the Republic of Korea. Besides, in 2017, many hotels put into operation with an array of activities to celebrate the holiday and attracted a great number of travelers.

Meanwhile, some new international air routes have been launched to connect the central hub with Hong Kong (China), Incheon, Busan, Daegu (the Republic of Korea) and Osaka (Japan).

In addition, a series of events and activities were organized such as Coco Starlight Festival 2017 in association with the Box Market with 100 kiosks on display and Winter Festival in Ba Na Hills Tourism Area./.
