Vietnam greets nearly 8.5 million foreigners in 8 months

The latest statistics showed foreign tourist arrivals to Vietnam reached an estimated around 1.3 million in August 2017, up 18.5% from the previous month and up 35.1% over a year earlier.

This figure has brought the total number of foreign tourists to the country in the first eight months of the year to more than 8.47 million, a year-on-year rise of 29.7%.
If tourism maintains its current growth and carries out a series of specific and practical solutions, it will achieve the target of welcoming 13 million foreign tourists in 2017.
According to the statistics, the country served 52.8 million domestic tourists in the eight months, in which 25.4 million stayed overnight. Total tourism revenue posted approximately VND335.84 trillion, a year-on-year rise of 26.7%.
