VNAT Deputy Director General Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong said that the launch of the tourism promotion offices in major markets has been proposed for 10 years, but still under schedule due to mechanism difficulties.

“In 2019, VNAT coordinated with Tourism Ambassador Lee Chan Kun to open Vietnam’s first tourism promotion office in the Republic of Korea (RoK). On the foundation, the administration is associating with TAB to open two others in the UK and Australia,” she added.

Earlier, in May, under a proposal for tourism development sent to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in order to offer suggestions at the Private Economic Forum, the businesses community proposed the Government and the ministry allow the use of private resources in expanding Vietnam’s tourism representative offices system abroad, including: personnel, model and operation mechanism./.
