Vietnamese tourists to RoK rise sharply in first half of year

(CPV) - In May 2018, the number of Vietnamese tourists to the Republic of Korea (RoK) reached more than 30,000; raising the figure for the first five months of the year to over 159,000, a 39.7% rise over a year earlier.

The Buyeo Seodong Lotus Festival is a tourism product of the Land of Kimchi 

The Korea Tourism Organization on June 19th said that since 2017, the country has always seen growth from the Vietnamese tourist market. 

In the near future, the organizers will continuously intensify promotion to develop specific Korean tourism products and further increase the number of Vietnamese tourists to the country, such as: organizing a Roadshow to promote Korea medical tourism in Ho Chi Minh city and Hanoi, joining International Travel Expo in Ho Chi Minh city in combination with promoting recreation tourism and beauty care, and speeding up promotion of free tourism and reward tourism for Vietnamese businesses.

Specifically, in the second half of the year, big cities and landscapes in the RoK will host a series of festivals to attract more tourists, such as Boryeong Mud Festival, Buyeo Seodong Lotus Festival, Jeongnamjin Jangheung Water Festival, and Incheon Pentaport Rock Festival./.
