Viettel offers up to 99% off roaming services in Malaysia

(CPV) - The Vietnam military-run telecommunications provider (Viettel), is offering up to 99 % discounts on roaming services for subscribers to welcome the ongoing 29th SEA Games in Malaysia.


Accordingly, from August 19th to December 31st, pre-paid, post-paid mobile users and pre-paid D-com subscribers will only have to pay VND1,000/MB for data while traveling in Malaysia.

In addition, they will get 80% off for calling or receiving calls in Malaysia and 65% off international messaging rates.

Earlier, since January 1st, Viettel has quit roaming call charges between its subscribers in three countries of Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos. International rates of the above-mentioned countries equivalent to the rates in Vietnam, thus creating a strong impetus for their cooperation in economic, trade, culture and tourism.

Viettel is currently the largest roaming provider in Vietnam, connected with more than 500 networks from about 200 countries/territories.

The firm previously announced that it will offer subscribers preferential international data roaming rates when they travel to Japan, the Republic of Korea and Australia up to September 15th, 2017.

When using the data roaming services of the RoK’s SKT and KTF, Japanese Softbank and NTT Domoco and Australian Telstra, customers will only have to pay VND22/10KB.
