Specifically, citizens of the Kingdom of England, the Republic of France, the Federal Republic of Germany, the Kingdom of Spain and the Republic of Italy are exempted from the visa requirement to enter and stay in Vietnam for not more than 15 days, from the date of entry, regardless of their passport types and entry purposes, provided they meet all the conditions prescribed by Vietnam’s law.

Under the Resolution, the Government asked the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to increase state management on tourism, speed up promotion, improve the quality of services at tourism establishments and destinations, as well as actively propose solutions to attract more foreigners to Vietnam.

The visa waiver for citizens from the five Western European countries was applied from July 2015.

In the first four months of 2017, the total tourists from the five countries reached nearly 330,000 arrivals, a year-on-year rise of 15%; in which those from Spain soared 32%, Germany (18%), Italy (16%), France (13%) and the UK (13%)./.
