The Binh Thuan provincial People’s Committee has decided to earmark nearly VND27 billion to support organizations and individuals conducting offshore fishing.

The spending aims to realize the Prime Minister’s decision on policies of encouraging and supporting offshore fishing, aquaculture and services, issued in 2010.
Of the capital, nearly VND19 billion will be allocated to Phu Quy island’s 194 registered offshore fishing vessels, while the rest will be distributed to Phan Thiet city, La Gi town and Tuy Phong district.
Under the decision, each offshore fishing vessel will be supported for four voyages per year. In particular, each voyage, VND22 million will flow to 90CV-150CV vessel, VND30 million to 150CV-250CV vessel, VND55 million to 250CV-400CV vessel, VND75 million to 400CV-700CV vessel, and VND100 million to 700CV (or more) vessel./.
