At the requiem, Buddhists and overseas Vietnamese spent a minute’s silence in memory of soldiers, who sacrificed during the fight to protect the nation’s sovereignty over the sea and islands, including Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes.

Venerable Thich Buu Chanh from Dong Nai province’s Phuoc Son monastery and Venerable Thich Le Nguyen, Head of the Vietnamese Buddhist Association in the UK, presided over the ceremony.

Venerable Thich Le Nguyen spoked that the requiem aimed to commemorate heroes sacrificed for the nation of Vietnam as well as help Vietnamese people in the UK understand that Hoang Sa and Truong Sa archipelagoes are of Vietnam./.
