Overseas Vietnamese in Russia donate to Vietnamese law enforcement forces

(CPV) - In Hanoi on June 24, the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese Affairs presented VND300 million and over USD70,000 to the Vietnam Coast Guard and Fisheries Resources Surveillance force to assist them in their duties on the East Sea.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Minister Nguyen Thanh Son emphasized that with the evolving situation on the East Sea in recent times, people at home and abroad have been deeply moved by the valiant spirit, determination and the resolve of the Vietnam Coast Guard, Fisheries Resources Surveillance Force and fishermen to defend the sovereignty of Vietnam’s sea and islands.

He added that along with people throughout the country, the overseas Vietnamese community has held many practical activities to contribute and give support to the forces. The Deputy Minister expressed his respect and thanks for the support of the expatriates all over the world and expatriates in Russia in particular.

On behalf of the Vietnam Coast Guard and Fisheries Resources Surveillance Force, Colonel Tran Trung Kien thanked the overseas Vietnamese in Russia for their contributions and sentiments. He mentioned not only the material support, but also spiritual encouragement to the Vietnam Coast Guard and the Fisheries Resources Surveillance Force to continue to protect the country’s sea and islands sovereignty.

On behalf of expatriates in Russia, Ms Pham Xuan Thanh shared that the overseas Vietnamese community in Russia has always looked toward the homeland. The overseas Vietnamese are extremely moved and impassioned by the spirit of the Vietnam Coast Guard and Fisheries Resources Surveillance forces. This contribution shows the sentiment of the overseas Vietnamese community in Russia sent to the soldiers who are protecting the sea sovereignty of the homeland./.
