14,000 policemen deployed for SEA Games 29

About 14,000 policemen will be deployed to ensure peace and security during the 29th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games 29), which will take place in Malaysia from August 19th - 30th.

On July 4th, Vice Director of the Internal Security and Public Order Department Datuk Azizan Abd Aziz said they would be posted at National Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur city Centre, and Nilai in Negeri Sembilan.
Besides, a number of locations such as the state of Terengganu and Langkawi Island of the state of Kedah will be also sent security forces.
From July 2nd - 4th, over 370 police personnel joined a security drill held in Terengganu state.
This will be the sixth time Malaysia host the games and its first time since 2001. Previously, it also hosted the 1965 Games, 1971 Games, 1977 Games and 1989 games./.
