More than 30 authors and 18 publishing houses from Canada are expected to come to Havana on the occasion of the 150th anniversary of establishing diplomatic relations with Cuba in 2017.

The event will also pay tribute to former leader of Cuba Fidel Castro. A number of conferences on his political thinking and his close relationship with Cuba’s cultural life, and several books put together in 2016 to celebrate his 90th birthday will be presented, some for the first time.

Twenty-four books have been announced in this respect, as well as a colloquium titled Fidel, politics and culture, which will convene a group of intellectuals on February 10th and 11th in the Nicolas Guillen lecture hall of San Carlos de la Cabana Fortress, the main venue of the program.

The International Book Fair, which will conclude on February 19th, will gradually extend to all corners of the country until its culmination in April./.
