Algeria’s President names three new Ministers

Algeria’s President Abdelaziz Bouteflika has nominated three new Ministers.

They include Youcef Yousfi as Minister for Industry and Mining, Mohamed Benmeradi as Trade Minister, and Abdelwahid Temmar as Minister of Housing, Urban Planning and the City, according to a statement from the presidency.

Mr. Youcef Yousfi, replacing Mr. Mahdjoub Bedda as Minister of Industry and Mining, was Algeria's Permanent Representative to the United Nations from 2006 to 2008.

Mr. Mohamed Benmeradi took on his new duties in replacement of Abdelhafid Saci and Mr. Abdelwahid Temmar replaced Youcef Chorfa.

Energy Minister Mustapha Guitouni and Finance Minister Abderrahamane Rouia remain in place.

Earlier, Ahmed Ouyahia, appointed as Prime Minister by President of the Republic, officially took office in a handover ceremony with his predecessor, Abdelmadjid Tebboune, at the Government Palace./.
