The ASEAN - US Foreign Ministers Meeting will take place in Washington DC on May 4th.
Cambodian Minister of Foreign Affairs Prak Sokhonn will lead a delegation to attend the meeting.
During his stay in Washington, Sokhonn will have a bilateral meeting with US Secretary of Homeland Security John Kelly.
“This upcoming event will be the first meeting between ASEAN Foreign Ministers and US Secretary of State Rex Tillerson since the new administration of President Donald Trump took office in January this year”, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cambodia’s news said.
Besides, the main agenda for the meeting will be on the US foreign policy towards ASEAN and the region.
The special meeting is expected to provide the opportunity to review ASEAN and US relations apart from exchanging views on regional and international issues, among others.
Foreign Minister Datuk Seri Anifah Aman will lead the Malaysian for the meeting.
This year marks the 40th anniversary of the establishment of the ASEAN-US dialogue relations./.
