At least 58 people, who are missing, are presumed to have died in the Grenfell Tower fire in west London, said the police.

“Sadly at this time, there are 58 people who we have been told were in Grenfell Tower on the night that are missing and therefore sadly I have to assume that they are dead,” Commander Stuart Cundy told reporters, insinuating the figure could change.

Earlier the police figured the death toll at 30.

A massive fire ripped through a 27-storey apartment block in the early hours on June 14th while many local people are sleeping.

The fire brigade said 40 fire engines and 200 firefighters had been called to the blaze in apartment, which has 120 flats./.
