Cambodia to cancel all activities to celebrate Chol Chnam Thmey festival

All ttemples across Cambodia will cancel festivals and activities to celebrate the Chol Chnam Thmey of Khmer ethnic group to avoid the risk of COVID-19 infection.

According to the Khmer Times, to curb the spread of COVID-19, Cambodian Prime Minister Samdech Techo Hun Sen announced the cancellation of festivals on the occasion of the Chol Chnam Thmey from April 13th to 16h.
However, public and private facilities are required to operate normally on the occasion, especially garment workers. Compensation will be provided for 5 days off after the COVID-19 pandemic passes.
According to data on worldometers, up to April 9th (Vietnam time), Cambodia recorded 119 COVID-19 patients./.
