Cuban Foreign Minister visits Spain

On April 17th, Cuban Foreign Minister (FM) Bruno Rodriguez Parrilla officially visited Spain.

He was welcomed by Spanish Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy in Madrid.

Parrilla's was the first visit to Spain by a Cuban Foreign Minister since 2008, when his predecessor Felipe Perez Roque visited Marid.

During the meeting, Rajoy and Parrilla discussed bilateral relations, and also relations between Cuba and the European Union. This visit by the Cuban Minister takes place after Cuba and the EU signed an agreement on political dialogue and cooperation in December 2016.

Spain is the first stop of Rodriguez's European tour. His European trip includes a visit to Portugal on April 19th and 20th, and Greece, on the 21st.

In Lisbon, the Cuban FM will meet Portuguese Foreign Minister Augusto Santos and in Athens, Rodriguez will talk to Greek Foreign Minister Nikolas Kotzias and other government officials, members of the Greek State and Parliament./.
