China, Japan, RoK to hold FTA talks in Beijing

Seoul’s Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy on December 5th announced that Republic of Korea (RoK), China and Japan will hold their 14th round of negotiations for a free trade agreement (FTA) to boost trade and investment between the Asian neighbors.

In this round of negotiations, senior trade officials of the three nations is gathering in Beijing on December 6th - 7th to discuss ways to open goods and services markets and lower trade barriers. 

Kazuyuki Yamazaki, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs, will lead the Japanese delegation which includes representatives from other relevant ministries to attend the meeting.

From the Chinese side, Mr. Wang Shouwen, Vice Minister of Commerce of the People's Republic of China, will lead the delegation for the meeting and the RoK delegation will be led by Ms. Yoo Myung hee, Deputy Minister for Trade Negotiations of the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy.

The three Northeast Asian nations are members of the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP), a mega trade deal involving 16 Asian nations./.
