This was confirmed by the Philippines’ Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) in a press release sent on October 12th.

The visit will include talks with President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Keqiang touching on ways to improve bilateral relations and deepen cooperation, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Geng Shuang said at a regular news briefing.

“China looks forward to increasing mutual trust between the two countries,” Geng Shuang said, “deepening practical cooperation and continuing the tradition of friendship via the visit of President Duterte.”

Before visiting China, Duterte will be in Brunei from October 16th to 18th. The President planned to travel to this Southeast Asian country from September 4th to 5th, but was forced to postpone the trip after the deadly Davao city bombing which took place the night before his expected departure.

After his trip to China, Duterte is set to visit Japan from October 25th to 27th./.
