Foreign Ministers of China, Japan and RoK officially meet in Tokyo

At the event, Ministers discussed their coordination in addressing the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK)’s prohibited nuclear and ballistic missile development programs.

They also committed to strengthening cooperation in economic areas, including negotiations toward the conclusion of a trilateral free trade agreement.

The meeting was the first such meeting held in Japan for five years. It was also expected to pave the way for a three-way summit in Tokyo is set to host this year.

Earlier, Japanese Foreign Minister Fumio Kishida and his Chinese counterpart Wang Yi had a secret one hour talk on the current situation between the two countries around the territorial disputes on the islands, known as Senkaku in Japanese and Diaoyu in Chinese./.
