Kevin Hassett nominated as Chairman of Council of Economic Advisers

President Donald Trump has announced he would nominate Mr. Kevin Hassett as Chairman of Council of Economic Advisers.

Hassett, who previously served as a senior economist at the Federal Reserve, needs to be confirmed by the Senate.

He is best known for his work on tax policy and is currently a senior fellow and Director of economic policy studies at the American Enterprise Institute.

Mr. Kevin Hassett was John McCain's chief economic adviser in the 2000 presidential primaries and an economic adviser to the campaigns of George W. Bush in the 2004 presidential election and McCain in the presidential election of 2008. He was among Mitt Romney's economic advisers for the 2012 presidential campaign.

Mr. Trump also intends to nominate Mark Green, a former Army doctor currently serving as a Tennessee State Senator, as Secretary of the Army, the White House said./.
