Kyrgyzstan’s Parliament sets Presidential election for October

The Parliament of Kyrgyzstan has adopted a resolution to set the Presidential Election Day on October 15th.

“The chamber has approved by a majority of votes the decree to hold the next presidential election on October 15th, 2017,” the press service said.

Earlier, Kyrgyz President Almazbek Atambayev signed amendments to the law on elections, which calls for October 15th as the presidential election date in the country.

The President of Kyrgyzstan is elected using the two-round system. Under the 2010 constitution, the presidential term is six years, but re-election is barred./.
