The 7th ASEAN Regional Quiz was organized in Vientiane, Laos on August 24th.

It was the first contest since the ASEAN Community was established on December 31st, 2015.
The 7th ASEAN Regional Quiz is for students at high schools in ASEAN to show their knowledge in the fields of economics, politics, security, society, regional cooperation and information of each country in ASEAN.
The event attracted 30 students from high schools in 10 countries of ASEAN.
The competition helps raise the understanding of the regional history and culture development among the candidates, while promoting regional cultural exchange.
Laos’ Deputy Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism Buangeun Saphuvong said the 7th ASEAN Regional Quiz was a part of activities in the ASEAN’s Culture-Society cooperation.
The event was concluded and Laos was the winner with 415 points and the Philippines gained the second place.
The ASEAN Regional Quiz was first launched in Thailand in 2002. The biennial event was has been broadcast on television in every ASEAN member country./.
