The summit, under the theme “BRICS in Africa: Collaboration for Inclusive Growth and Sharred Prosperity in the Fourth Industrial Revolution”, was attended by over 400 representatives from the business communities of Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, as well as representatives from strategic partners such as New Development Bank.

The event featured remarks by leaders Xi Jinping (China), Vladimir Putin (Russia), Narendra Modi (India), and Michel Temer (Brazil).

A number of trade and cooperation agreements are expected to be signed on the sidelines of the BRICS summit.

Earlier, South African Minister of Trade and Industry Rob Davies said on July 24th that delegates would deliberate on strategic economic matters affecting the future of BRICS at the event.

"The Business Forum will deliberate on the current global political economy and its implications for BRICS member countries, the implications of the 4th Industrial Revolution on inclusive growth and transformation, facilitating intra-BRICS trade, as well as fostering BRIC-Africa partnerships," Davies said in a statement.

The forum, an independent international organization encouraging commercial, political and cultural cooperation between the BRICS nations, was formed in 2011./.
