The US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo will travel to Pyongyang in October to prepare for the summit between the two leaders, the US State Department announced.

During his visit, Pompeo is hoped to make further progress on the implementation of the commitments from the US - DPRK summit in Singapore, including the final, fully verified denuclearization of DPRK.

Earlier, Mr. Pompeo met DPRK Foreign Minister Ri Yong Ho in New York and accepted leader Kim's invitation to travel to Pyongyang next month to prepare for the next Trump-Kim summit.

On September 10th, the White House said President Donald Trump had received a request from leader Kim Jong-un for a second meeting, and that the administration had begun the process of coordinating such an event.

The 1st US - DPRK summit took place at the Capella Hotel in Singapore’s Sentosa island on June 12th.

At the event, leader Kim Jong-un committed to work toward "complete denuclearization" of the Korean Peninsula in exchange for security guarantees from the US./.
