7th Conference on International Security opens

The 7th Conference on International Security, themed “The development outlook in the Middle East following the routing of ISIS in Syria”, took place on April 4th in Moskva.

The event attracted the participation of 850 representatives from 95 countries, including 30 Defence Ministers, 15 Chiefs of General Staff and the deputies of the Defense Ministers, in addition to 8 international organizations and 68 foreign experts who are pioneers in the security field.

More than 700 representatives of domestic and foreign mass media have registered to highlight the 7th Moscow Conference on International Security.

The Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu said that the experience of fighting terrorism in Syria would be one of the main subjects in the conference.

During the conference, the Russian side would show its expectations about the situations’ development in the Middle East.

The high-ranking Vietnamese military delegation led by General Ngo Xuan Lich, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission and Defence Minister, is attending the event.

As planned, on the sidelines of the event, the Vietnamese Defense Minister will meet with his Russian counterpart Sergey Shoygu, during which the two sides will continue discussing and mapping out new contents and measures to expand bilateral defense cooperation, contributing to cementing the two militaries’ friendship and cooperation in line with the Vietnam-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership.

Launched by the Russian Ministry of Defense in 2012, the annual event provides a forum for senior defense officers, military experts from many countries and representatives from international organizations to debate global security issues that impact peace and stability, thus proposing solutions to these issues./.
