95th anniversary of V.I.Lenin’s death marked in Moscow

On January 21st, Russia held a ceremony to mark the 95th anniversary of Vladimir Lenin's death, at the Lenin Mausoleum in Moscow’s Red Square.

The ceremony was attended by leaders of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation, regional parliaments, communists of the Moscow city and Moscow regional branches, and representatives of public organizations.

Lenin was one of the most prominent political figures and revolutionary ideologists of all time. His political ideology was based on communism, but he developed his own ideology which was later branded Leninism.

He took over the power of Russia in 1917 and served as the head of the country till 1924. However, he reigned over the greater Soviet Union from 1922 to 1924. During his reign, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics (USSR) became a one-party state governed by the Russian Communist Party.

Vladimir Lenin passed away in 1924 at the age of only 53.

of social movements visited Lenin’s Mausoleum in Moscow’s Red Square


On this day, a number of cities of the Russian Federation also organized activities to commemorate the outstanding leader of the worker class.
