In the meeting with Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, President Xi Jin-ping called for friendly relations between the two countries.

The two countries should enhance connection of development strategies and push cooperation in all areas under the Belt and Road, President Xi said.

The two leaders also witnessed the signing of cooperation documents after the meeting.

While meeting with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, President Xi Jin-ping said development of China-Singapore ties is closely related with China's reform and opening-up. The two countries should map out new strategic and top-level planning on promoting bilateral ties and advancing pragmatic cooperation.

With Pakistani Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi, President Xi Jin-ping asked to speed up the construction of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor and ensure sound planning of all related projects.

The ties between China and Pakistan should become a model for good-neighbourly relationship and international cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative, President Xi told Mr Abbasi. He added China firmly supports Pakistan in maintaining its national unity and the fight against terrorism.

Meeting with Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh, Mr. Xi said China will deepen its ties with Mongolia, stressing that both sides should respect and take care of each other's core interests. China has always respected Mongolia's independence, sovereignty, territorial integrity, and the development path voluntarily chosen by its people, he said.

This year's BFA was held from April 8th to 11th in Boao, a town in the southern island province of Hainan China.

Founded in 2001, the BFA is a non-profit organization that hosts high-level forums for leaders from government, business and academia in Asia and other continents to share their vision on the most pressing issues in this dynamic region and the world at large.

BFA, modeled after the World Economic Forum held annually in Davos, Switzerland, has its fixed address in Bo'ao, Hainan province, China, although the Secretariat is based in Beijing. The Forum inherits its name from the town of Boao, which has been the permanent venue for its annual conference since 2002.

Discussions at the BFA focus on economics, integration, cooperation, society, and the environment. In the past, the Forum also addressed China's entry into the World Trade Organization, as well as Southeast Asia's economic crisis during the 1990s. In addition to its annual meeting, the BFA also sponsors other forums and meetings related to Asian issues./.
