Mr. John Glen will replace Mr. Stephen Barclay, a former banker popular among industry executives, who was appointed Health Minister.

He will be responsible for financial services policy and the Government’s relationship with firms such as banks, insurers and asset managers.

His appointment is one of a number of ministerial changes announced this week by UK Prime Minister Theresa May as part of a wider reshuffle of government posts.

John Glen, a graduate from both the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge, previously worked for Accenture helping to manage its relationship with the World Economic Forum. He became a member of parliament in 2010.

Mr. John Glen was promoted to Arts, Heritage and Tourism Minister only seven months ago, after spending a year as parliamentary secretary to the Chancellor of the Exchequer Philip Hammond./.
